The Curriculum Support
Programme at Amnuay Silpa

The ANS Curriculum Support
Programme has been specifically
designed for students who do not
currently have the necessary
competency in
different skill areas in English
language to be able to access
the main objectives of our
curriculum. Our main aim is to
improve student confidence to
communicate in English and to
encourage independent
study habits.
Therefore we will work in small
groups (2 -7 students) and also
offer one-to-one support.
How the programme will work:
Each student will be assessed
and given their own report card
along with their own
Individualised Educational
Programme to monitor each
student's
progress. As a curriculum
support teacher Ms. Heider will prepare
support lessons to focus on
speaking, reading, and writing
skills. Ms. Heider will also improve
each student’s progress by giving
in-class support.
The ANS Curriculum Support
Programme consists of a minimum
of 160 minutes face-to-face
support with the support
teacher each week. The students will get 3
support lessons in different
subjects depending on their
needs and 1 support lesson in
English.
We will teach and work in small
Learning Support Classes that
will give the students access to
the same learning objectives as
the other students in their
normal tutor group. Research and
results from schools in Europe
has proven that curriculum
support programmes really work.

The second integral
part of the Curriculum Support
Programme is for students to
have access to a minimum of 120
minutes after school in sessions on
Fast ForWord, an
accelerated English software
programme the cost of which is already
included in the price of the
programme. Parents are
invited to come and test the
this language software for
themselves.
We also offer homework
support. Ms. Heider will be available
each day from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
to correct and explain any
written work. It is
the student's own responsibility
to ask for help.

Reporting will be done
once every two weeks. The report
card will be in Thai and English
and it will be attached to the
student’s diary. Report cards
monitor the student’s
achievements and also identify
their targets and needs. This
allows us to create and
Individualised Educational
Plan for each student. Report cards need to be
signed every two weeks by the
parents and students. Personal
e-mails and face-to-face
meetings are available at any
time.
Flexibility is a key part of the
programme and as soon as your
child is judged ready, curriculum support for
individual students will be
phased out.
