Salary and Benefits

Our starting salary  structure  for a new qualified teacher with the appropriate qualifications and experience is competitive compared  to  most  international  schools in Thailand. For  teachers  with relevant experience, there will be a monthly increment  for every year of post QTS teaching  experience  that you have had up to a maximum of 10 years. We also will pay a monthly housing allowance in addition to the salary.
The school will cover the cost  of  a  return  flight  (two-way)  for every  two -year overseas contract signed. Teachers  are  asked  to  make  their  own  initial  arrangements  for the purchase of the initial ticket to Bangkok, whereupon on arrival, you will be reimbursed.
BUPA insurance will be provided to teachers, but not their families. However, arrangements can be made if you want to get a family package at your own extra cost. At  the  end  of  each  two - year contract,  teachers will be given an ‘end of contract' bonus of two month's salary.

Contractual Obligations

Initial  contracts are for two years and are
renewable for one  year  periods with mutual
agreement by both the teacher and school.
Teachers are required to be in school  by 7.30
for initial preparation. The teaching day ends
at  3.15  pm   and  while it  is  expected  that  all
teaching responsibilities , including administration
and  lesson  preparation  will  be  completed they
can leave any time after 4.00pm and at 3.00 pm on Thursdays and Fridays .

Class Sizes

In order to deliver an effective curriculum  to children for whom English  is  a foreign language, we  appreciate that class size is an important factor. Each class  has no
more than 24 pupils and in the immersion classroom these are usually split into two  groups of 12, For the immersion Programme you will  teach one group at a time, making it easier  for you to interact with them and give them  the individual attention you need to, in  order  to be  able to cater for their specific needs and assess them accurately. As well each class is supported by a TA for up to 10 teaching blocks per week.  In the Bilingual Programme  which is mainly at the secondary level groups of up to 24 students are taken.

Paperwork

The school provides and pays for a non-immigrant B visa and the year extension, a teacher's license and a work permit for all teachers.

Professional Development

We  want   your  experience  at  Amnuay  Silpa  to  be  a  rewarding  one and we are currently developing our professional development programme to include workshops provided in-house and by visiting speakers. You will be  supported  by  experienced  teachers  at  every  level  and  you  can  be  sure  that  your  observations  and suggestions will be valued and applied.
All new teachers are observed informally and formally during their 3-month probationary period and are given oral and written feedback. All teachers observe colleagues and those from other year groups during the academic year. Currently  we  are  setting  up  a  team  teaching  programme  and  establishing  observation opportunities between other programmes in the school.
