Our School

is inspired by the past, while projecting steadily into
the future

Amnuay  Silpa School  was founded in 1926. We settled at
our present campus in 1952.

In the early years, Mr. Chitra Dansuputra  was  the
co - founder and  the  owner of  the  school. He later set up a non - profit  educational trust ."Amnuay Silpa  Foundation" and donated the school to the foundation in 1960. Members of  the board of the ANS  foundation  are  respected  and experienced  educators  from  public  and   private   sectors. The board still governs the school policy.

Admission   is  for   boys   and   girls   aged  3 - 5 years  in kindergarten, 6-11 years in Prathom or Primary School,  12-14 years in Middle School and 15-17 years in Mathayom Senior School.

The   bilingual  education  at  ANS  is  for  children   whose first  language  is  Thai  and whose target  language is English. A combined Thai / British  Curriculum   has  been  developed  for  this  purpose.

Although lessons are conducted in both languages, the focus is on the Thai National Curriculum. At any stage, pupils have  choices as to whether they want to further their education under the Thai or international system.

Amnuay Silpa is not an International School

Amnuay Silpa is a Thai bi-lingual school and this means that
there are important differences between ourselves and other
schools.

   • Up  to  fifty  percent of the pupils' timetable will be taught in  English,  including  Maths , PE, Art  P.S.H.E and Language Arts. The  rest  of  the  pupils'  timetable  is taught  in Thai, by Thai teachers.

   • We  follow   the  British  National   curriculum for   lessons taught  in English and we work very closely with  the National Literacy  and  Numeracy Strategies. However, our curriculum is still evolving and complements the Thai National Curriculum wherever practicable.

   • Our aim is not to replace  the  pupils' first  language  Thai, but  to  ‘add'   to  the  language  competency   of  our  pupils. We would like them to acquire academic and linguistic skills in
both Thai and English.
